Perimenopause, Menopause and Beyond

The conversation around perimenopause and menopause has long been kept ‘hush hush’, much like pelvic floor dysfunction, pain with intercourse and pelvic pain conditions. It is time to bring understanding, support and open conversations around perimenopause, menopause and beyond as they directly impact individuals health and wellness.

Perimeopause was only a coined term in 1996. Perimenopause start in ones mid 30s and last up to or beyond 10 years. It generally is the decrease in progesterone resulting in period, sleep and mood dysruptions amongst other things.

Menopause is one day, it is the 12 month anniversary of your final period.

Post menopause is every day for the rest of your life. And because Perimenopause, menopause and beyond is so very different for each person it must be approached per individual experience and goals.
