Body Dynamics offers exceptional dance programs that provide an innovative forum for students to experience and foster essential skills – communication, leadership, participation, and creativity. Focusing predominantly on “street dance” or “hip-hop”, Body Dynamics programs allow students to study, and perform, some of the latest trends in the industry. Body Dynamics offers three types of programs: a six session Curriculum Dance Program, a Dance Workshop, and a Cardio Kickboxing Workshop. Styles of dance offered include: Hip Hop, Breakdancing, Street Jazz, Modern, and Musical Theatre.

“Thank you so much for sharing your expertise, enthusiasm and amazing energy with our school. You've been such a terrific addition to our staff. Your enjoyment of the students is so genuine and they react beautifully to you in return. Shy students have demonstrated confidence. Strong students have had opportunities to lead and practice the art of compromise. Everything you do is valuable, FUN, and very much appreciated. I'm looking forward to working with you again next year! (Liisa Cini St. Anthony).”

curriculum dance program

Students practisingIntegrating curriculum requirements, students will learn and create choreographed routines to, ultimately, present to classmates. Initially, students will work independently to rehearse choreography outlined by the instructor. Subsequently, students will collaborate in groups to create a unique presentation. Creating a polished performance requires creativity, cooperation, and problem solving. Groups will explore the unique ability of each member and attempt to incorporate notable movements into the final presentation. Performances should be cohesive and interesting. Emphasis in marking is placed on improvement, attitude, effort, inventiveness, cooperation, active participation, and group cohesion.

Regardless of level, teachers have raved that this program improves listening and fine motor skills, confidence, and student interaction. Importantly, it allows all students – regardless of gender, age, social status, or ethnicity – the ability to experience this incredible art form.

“ … thank you for making me more confident in what I love to do (which is dance). You make me feel like doing anything in life like being confident and know I can make it if I try. I love your dancing and I'm so happy that you came back to our school. God bless you and good luck in the future. See you soon! (Keisha, Grade 5).”

cardio kickboxing student program

This exhilarating fitness class is appropriate for students from grade five and up. Students will learn basic kickboxing techniques – jab, cross, sidekick, roundhouse kick, etc. – and learn to apply these techniques to music. Initially, students will work independently to learn the basic movements, and small choreographed pieces. Later, students will be placed in small groups and asked to create a final presentation.

The final presentation should include the choreography provided by the instructor, and further movements added by the group. Students are encouraged to be as creative as possible – perhaps using humor, and/or drama, to make the presentation more interesting. Hence, students will learn several skills: basic fighting techniques, rhythm, aerobic style exercise, and group cohesion … to name a few.
